Restricted shares are those which are acquired through some means other than open market prior to IPO.2. Restricted shares are offered to employees of the issuing company. 3. Restricted stocks can not be sold without the registration with SEC(security act 1933).Outstanding shares – Number of stocks that the company actually issues. This number includes all the shares in the open market i.e. the share that can be freely brought and sold by public as well as restricted shares. The shares that is repurchased by the company is not considered as outstanding shares.Market capitalization - Total number of outstanding shares of a company X current market price of one share.Mid cap company – A company with a market capitalization between $2 to $10 billion.(1 Billion – 1 arab in hindi)Small cap company -A company with a market capitalization between $300 million to $2 billion.( 1 million – 10 lakh in hindi)Large cap company - Companies with a market capitalization value of more than $10 billion.
