In this article, we will discuss the virtual machines in Microsoft Azure.

What Is The Virtual Machine?

A virtual machine is the logical distribution of space within a single computer. Each distribution acts as a computer. Each computer has its own operating system, disk space, and other computer resources.

In other words, a virtual machine acts as a computer under the computer.

How To Create A Virtual Machine?

To create a virtual machine: -

Click on Virtual Machines from the left-hand side menu
The virtual machine list page will appear

To add a virtual machine, click on the Add button

In the add screen, enter the required details

Scroll down to enter the administrator account details

Enter the inbound port details

Click on the Review + Create button
On the review screen, click on the Create button

The deployment will start.

Once the deployment is complete, you will get the following message.

How To Login To The Machine?

First, check the IP address of the machine. For that, click on the Go to resource button as displayed in the figure above.

A screen will be displayed where the IP address of the virtual machine will be displayed.

Now open the remote desktop, enter the IP address, username and password (created in Administrator account section) and you can login to the system.

Is Virtual Machine An IAAS Or PAAS?

The virtual machine is an IAAS because the owner has the responsibility for completely patching and managing the virtual machine.

Resources Created Along With The Virtual Machine

Once the virtual machine is created, there are other resources created along with the virtual machine i.e., virtual machine, disk, network interface card, etc.

When a virtual machine is created, you can also see the same set of resources within the resource group.
