Update Management Of Azure Virtual Machines

In this article, we will discuss update management of Azure virtual machines.

Purpose Of Update Management

Update management is used to manage the operating system updates for windows and Linux virtual machines.

How To Configure Update Management?

For configuring the update management, we will work on the following steps: -

Create a log analytics workspace
Create a virtual machine
Configure update management

Let us get started.

Create A Log Analytics Workspace

First, create a log analytics workspace.

Create A Virtual Machine

Second step is to create a virtual machine.

Configure Update Management

To configure the update management, go to the details screen of the virtual machine. From the left-hand side menu, click on the Updates link.

A screen will appear on the right-hand side. On the right-hand side, click on the Go to Updates using automation.

Another screen will appear where you have an option to enable update management. Select the details and click on the Enable button.

The deployment will start. Once the deployment is done, you can see the updates (if any) for the virtual machine.
