Import The BACPAC File To The Azure SQL Database

In this article, we will import the BACPAC file to the Azure SQL database.

Exporting Database To Storage Account

In this article, we exported the database as a BACPAC file to the storage account.

Create An Azure SQL Database

The next step is to create an Azure SQL server database. While creating the database, please select the Connectivity method as Public endpoint.

Import Database

Once the database is created, connect to the database using the SQL Server Management Studio. On the Databases folder, right-click and click on Import Data-tier Application….

The following window will appear.

Click on the Next > button. In the next window, you can select the BACPAC file from the Azure storage account.

Click on the Next > button. On the next screen, enter the database name and click on the Next > button.

Finally, the summary screen will appear. Click on the Finish button to start import.

The import will start. Once the operation is completed (see the picture below).

Close the window and check the database. The tables are created in the new database.
