Enable Cloudwatch Logs For The AWS API Gateway

In this article, we will enable CloudWatch logs for the AWS API Gateway.

Role

First, create a role. Select API Gateway as a service and AmazonAPIGatewayPushToCloudWatchLogs as the permission.

To provide the permission, click on the Settings menu at the bottom of the API.

A screen will appear where you can specify the role ARN.

Click on the Save button to save the setting.

The next step is to deploy the API.

To enable the CloudWatch logs, click on the Logs/Tracing tab. In the tab, select the CloudWatch Logs as Full Request And Response Logs.

Browse the API URL and calls gets logged in the CloudWatch.
