Roles In AWS

In this article, we will discuss roles in AWS.

Purpose

Roles are the permissions between the 2 services (For example an EC2 and S3).

To create a role, go to the IAM module. In the IAM module, click on the Roles menu.

The roles screen appears on the right-hand side. Click on the Create role button.

A screen appears, where you can select the source. For this article, we are selecting EC2.

Click on the Next: Permissions button. In the next window, select permission. For this article, we are selecting AmazonS3FullAccess permission.

Click on the Next: Tags button.

This is an optional step. Click on the Next: Review button.

On this screen, you can enter your Role name. Click on the Create role button to create the role.

The role is created.
