Point The IIS Page To The Custom Domain Using Route53 In AWS

In this article, we will point the IIS page to the custom domain using route53 in AWS.

Steps

For doing that, we will work on the following steps: -

Launch an EC2 instance with IIS enabled
Enable IIS home page to access over the internet
Create a hosted zone
Change the vendor namespaces
Create the record inside the hosted zone
Output

Let us work on each step.

Launch An EC2 Instance With IIS Enabled

First, launch an EC2 instance with IIS enabled. You can follow this link.

Enable IIS Home Page To Access Over The Internet

Second step is to enable the IIS home page hosted on the EC2 accessible over the internet. For that, you can follow this link.

Create A Hosted Zone

For creating the hosted zone, search the word route53 in the search box. Click on Route 53 in the search result.

In the route 53 screen, click on the Hosted zones link on the left-hand side.

The hosted zones screen will appear. Click on the Create hosted zone button.

In the create hosted zone screen, enter the custom Domain name and Type as Public hosted zone and click on the Create hosted zone button at the bottom of the screen.

The hosted zone will get created.

Change The Vendor Namespaces

Once you create the hosted zone, you can see the new namespaces created.

Now, you can go to your vendor site and change the namespaces.

Create The Record Inside The Hosted Zone

Once the namespaces are changed, you can create a new record inside the hosted zone.

Here, we are instructing that whenever a user enters the URL blog.gyansangrah.com then redirects to the EC2 instance.
