Enable The Termination Protection Of The AWS EC2 Instance

In this article, we will enable the termination protection of the EC2 instance.

Purpose

The termination protection prevents your instance from accidental termination.

Enable Termination Protection For The EC2 Instance

While launching an EC2 instance, there is a Termination protection dropdown inside the Advanced details section.

How To Configure Termination Protection For The Existing EC2 Instance?

For configuring the termination protection for the existing EC2 instance, select the instance and go to Actions → Instance settings → Change termination protection.

A screen will appear to enable the protection. Check the Enable checkbox and click on the Save button.
