Connection Draining In Classic Load Balancer In AWS

In this article, we will discuss connection draining in classic load balancer in AWS.

What Is Connection Draining?

Connection draining when enabled stops sending requests to the instances that are deregistered or in unhealthy status.

How To Edit The Connection Draining?

First, create the new classic load balancer. Use this article to create the classic load balancer.

Once the classic load balancer is created, click on the Instances tab. In the Instances tab, you will see an Edit link to enable or disable connection draining.

When you click on the Edit link, a popup window will appear. Modify the details and click on the Save button.

Here, the Timeout field specifies the time (in seconds) by which the classic load balancer will keep the connection alive before marking the instance as unhealthy.
