Backup Of One Web App And Restore It To The Other Web App In Azure

In this article, we will take the backup of one web app and restore it to the other web app in Azure.

Creation Of 2 Web Apps

We will create 2 web apps i.e., source and destination. Please note that the price tier should be Standard and the Runtime stack should be ASP.NET V 4.8.

Deploy The Application On The Source Web App

We create a sample web form project and deploy it using visual studio on sourcewebapp.

Backup Of The Sourcewebapp

To back up the web app, go to the Backups submenu in the web app. Click on the Configure custom backups button to start the backup configuration.

A window will appear on the right-hand side.

Select the Storage account and the Container. Click on the Configure button. The window will be closed and the Backup Now button will be enabled.

Click on the Backup Now button to start back up. Once the backup is completed, a record appears in the table below.

Click on the restore icon. A window will appear on the right-hand side.

Select the destination App Service and the Deployment slot. Click on the Restore button.

Once the restore is completed, you can see the target web app the same as the source web app.
