AWS RDS Event Subscription

In this article, we will discuss AWS RDS event subscription.

Purpose

AWS RDS event subscription sends a notification (like an email) in case of an event.

So, let us get started.

First, create an RDS. Follow this link for RDS creation. Make sure that the database is public.

To create an event subscription, click on the Event subscriptions link on the Amazon RDS dashboard.

In the event subscription screen, click on the Create event subscription button.

In the Create event subscription screen, enter the details as shown in the screenshot below.

Once the event subscription is created, an email is received to confirm the subscription.

Click on the Confirm subscription link and your subscription is confirmed.

To take the snapshot, select the database and click on the Actions → Take snapshot option.

In the Take Snapshot screen, enter the snapshot name and click on the Take snapshot button.

The snapshot is created.

You will receive a notification of the snapshot creation.
