VPC Flow Logs In AWS

In this article, we will discuss VPC flow logs in AWS.

Purpose

VPC logs enable you to capture the information about the IP traffic to and fro from the VPC.

How To Enable VPC Flow Logs?

To enable VPC flow logs, we will work on the following steps: -

Create an S3 bucket with public access
Launch an EC2 instance with IIS enabled
Create VPC flow logs
Check the VPC flow logs

Let us start

Create A S3 Bucket With Public Access

First, create an s3 bucket.

Launch An EC2 Instance With IIS Enabled

The second step is to launch an EC2 instance with IIS enabled.

Create VPC Flow Logs

To create a VPC log, go to the Your VPCs screen. Select the VPC and click on the Create flow log button in the Flow logs tab.

A screen will appear to create the VPC flow.

In the above image, we are storing the VPC flow logs in the S3 bucket. Enter the information and click on the Create flow log button. The flow log is created.

Check The VPC Flow Logs

Once the IP traffic is flown to and fro the VPC, the logs are captured in the S3 bucket.
