Target Groups In AWS

This article describes target groups in AWS.

Purpose

A target group is a set of resources (like EC2 instances or Lambda functions) that a load balancer routes traffic to based on configured rules.

To create a target group, click on the Target Groups link in the left-hand menu.

The Create Target Group screen will appear. First, select the target type. For this article, we will choose Instances.

Scroll down to input the Target group name and Protocol.

Scroll down to specify the Health checks. Click on the Next button.

On the next screen, we can choose the Available instances.

Finally, scroll down and click on the Create target group button.

The target group has been created.
