Tags In Microsoft Azure

In this article, we will discuss tags in the Microsoft Azure.

Purpose

Tags are used to logically categorize the resources. Every tag is a name-value pair.

How to create a tag?

For this example, we will update the existing resource group with tags. For doing that.

Go to the resource group and click on the resource group name.

In the details screen, go to the Tags section.

In the Tags section, enter in the "Name" and the "Value" textbox. Click on the "Save" button.

How to check the count of tags using powershell?

Use the following command to get the list of tags.

get-aztag

How to search the resources using the tags?

For this article, we have created 2 storage accounts with tags.

Now, go to the search box and search the word "tags".

A page will appear with the list of tags.

You can click on any of the tags, you can see the resources within that tag.
