System And User Defined Roles In Automation Anywhere

In this article, we will discuss about different roles in automation anywhere control room.

Types Of Roles

In control room, there are 2 types of roles

System roles
User defined roles.

Let us discuss about each role.

How To Access Roles In Control Room?

To access the roles section in control room

Login to control room as an administrator.
Go to ADMINISTRATION → Roles

A screen will appear to display all the roles in the control room.

System Roles

These are the predefined roles created by automation anywhere. Each role has its own purpose.

Following are the predefined roles

AAE_Admin – Administrator of control room.
AAE_Basic – Creation and running a task bot.
AAE_Locker Admin – Managing the locker in credentials vault.
AAE_Meta Bot Designer – For meta bot development.
AAE_Pool Admin – Administrator for workload related activities.
AAE_Queue Admin – Managing queues in workload management.

User Defined Roles

These are the custom roles created by the control room administrator. To create a custom role, click on the ‘Create role…’ button on the top right-hand side of the screen.

Here you can specify the role name and the activity you want to perform with that role.
