Selection Pane Feature In Powerpoint

In this article, we will discuss selection pane feature in power point.

Purpose

Selection pane is used to manage objects (show/hide or group/ungroup objects) in power point slide.

Consider a new power point slide

Here, we have 2 objects

If I add one image in the slide, then that image will be the third object.

To open the selection pane

A window will open on the right-hand side of the screen

As you can see in the above window, there are 2 objects ‘Subtitle 2’ and ‘Title 1’.

With every object, there is eye like icon. It acts as toggle button to show and hide objects.

Let us hide ‘Title 1’ by clicking on eye like icon. Here is how selection pane and slide will look like.

To group the objects

Select both the objects in selection pane by pressing ‘ctrl’ button and click on both the objects.
Click on the ‘Format’ tab.
From the ‘Group’ dropdown, select ‘Group’ option.

Similarly, you can use the ungroup option to ungroup objects.

Consider a slide with good amount of information. Formatting a single object is time consuming and can also disturb other objects.
