Protect And Unprotect Excel 2010 With Password

To make the excel file password protected, go to the following path

Once you click on ‘Encrypt with Password’, a window appears to enter password as shown in figure below

Enter the password and click ‘Ok’ then another window appears for the password confirmation. Reenter the password and click on ‘Ok’.

Now save the file and close it. Next time when you open the excel file, you could see the password window prompts up

To unprotect an excel enter the password to open the file. Go to the same path i.e. File – Info – Protect Workbook – Encrypt with Password. A pop up window appears as shown in figure below

Make the textbox blank and click on ‘Ok’. Finally save and close the excel. Next time when you open the file there will be no password prompt.
