Perform Recording In Workbench In Jmeter

In this article, we will perform our first recording using workbench in jMeter.

Components In Jmeter

Following components will be added in jMeter

Add HTTP(S) Test Script Recorder. To do that
1. Right-click on Test Plan
2. Go to Add → Non-Test Elements → HTTP(S) Test Script Recorder

Here I have performed following actions

Field	Value
Set port	5000
Capture HTTP Headers (checkbox)	Unchecked

Add HTTP Request Defaults. To do that
1. Right-click on Test Plan
2. Go to Add → Config Elements → HTTP Request Defaults

Here I have entered protocol, server name and path.

Adding recording controller. To do that
1. Add a thread group (Test Plan → Add Thread (Users) → Thread Group)
2. Right-click on Thread Group, go to Add → Logic Controller → Recording Controller

Before you run the recording, perform the following actions

Here uncheck ‘Automatically detect settings’ and check proxy server and set the port number and address.

To perform recording

Here you are specifying that recording name should start with word ‘abc’. Once the recording is done, click on Stop button.
