Outline View In Powerpoint

In this article, we will discuss outline view in PowerPoint.

Purpose

If you are making a presentation and you have a lot of content to paste from other data source like word, outlook email, any website etc. then outline mode is a very good feature.

Outline view allows to you to paste the text content quickly from data source. Later you can format it based on the requirement.

How To Access Outline View?

To access the outline view

Go to ‘View’ tab.
Click on ‘Outline View’ button.

How To Use Outline View?

To understand outline view, we will add some contents in the slide (see the figure below)

Now go to outline view and you will see the content pasted in the slide in outline view. Outline view is the left-hand side section (similar to thumb nail in home screen).

Now, go to the outline view section and press enter key. A new slide will get added.

Here count specifies the number of slides. Next step is to paste the content from a website in slide number 2.

In the similar way, you can keep on adding slides and paste the text content. Once the content is pasted, you can format it later as per your requirement.
