Object Replication In A Storage Account In Azure

In this article, we will discuss object replication in a storage account in Azure.

Purpose

The object replication copies the blobs from one storage account to another asynchronously.

Creation Of Storage Account

For this article, we will create 2 storage accounts one is the source and the other is the destination. Here is the configuration of storage accounts.

Name	Region	Replication	Container
storageaccountobjrepl	East US	Local Redundancy Storage	sourcecontainer
destaccountobjrepl	North Central US	Local Redundancy Storage	destcontainer

Please note that while creating the source storage, enable the following tracking options.

Implement Object Replication

In the source storage account, click on the Object replication in the Data Management menu. A screen appears on the right-hand side.

Click on the + Set up the replication rules button.

In the replication rules screen, enter the source and destination storage account.

How To Check The Replication?

Add a text file to the source storage account and wait for 3 to 5 minutes.

The text file is copied to the destination container as well.
