Mapping Between The Tenant And The Subscription In Azure

In this article, we will describe the mapping between the tenant and the subscription in Azure.

How Subscriptions And Tenants Are Mapped?

Each subscription can be mapped to a single tenant (or directory). If you go into the details screen of the subscription, you can see the directory mapped to the subscription.

What Does The Mapping Between The Subscription And Tenant Mean?

This mapping means that the users created inside the tenant can only access the resources inside the mapped subscription.

How Can I Change The Tenant Of The Subscription?

To change the tenant (or directory): -

Go to the details screen of the subscription
Click on the Change directory button

A docked window will appear on the right-hand
Select the directory and click on the Change button to change the directory

How To Change The Directory In The Portal?

To change the directory, click on your profile image on the top right side of the screen. Click on the Switch directory link.
