Lifecycle Management In The Storage Account In Azure

In this article, we will discuss lifecycle management in the storage account in Azure.

Purpose

The purpose of life cycle management is to create the rule for the storage account. The rule is in this format.

In the if condition, we specify the number of days when the blob was last modified. If the condition is satisfied, you can perform one of the following actions: -

Move the blob to the cold access tier
Move the blob to the archive access tier
Delete the blob

Create The Rule

For this example, I have uploaded a text file inside the container of the storage account.

To create the rule, go to the Lifecycle management submenu. A screen will appear on the right-hand side. Click on the + Add a rule button.

A screen will appear where you can specify the rule name and type of blob. Click on the Next button.

In the next screen, you can specify the if and then condition. Click on the Add button to add the rule.

You can see the created rule on the Lifecycle management screen.
