Introduction To AWS Snowball

In this article, we will provide a brief introduction to AWS snowball.

Purpose

Consider a scenario, where you want to transfer a large amount of data (petabyte scale) to the cloud. To expedite the process, AWS provides a secure appliance to transfer a large amount of data to the AWS cloud.

The secure appliance is the AWS snowball device.

Different Members Of The Snowball Family

AWS snowball and snowmobile → Used for migrating large volumes of data to the AWS cloud
Snowball edge → Used for edged use cases
Snow cone → A small device used for edge computing, storage, and data transfer
