How To Encrypt PDF Files In Automation Anywhere A2019

In this article, we will discuss how to encrypt PDF files in automation anywhere A2019.

Steps

To encrypt the PDF file

Select the action "Encrypt document".

Drag and drop the action on the right-hand side of the screen.

Click on the action and set the following properties
1. PDF file - The file to be encrypted.
2. User Password
3. Owner Password
4. Save encrypted PDF as - Output path of the encrypted file.
Click on the Save and Run the bot.

Difference Between Owner And User Password

Owner has full access over the PDF file whereas the user can access only those PDF features which are assigned by the owner.

In the property window, there is an option to assign the permissions.

Output

Once the bot execution is completed, an encrypted file is created. Once you open the file, you can see the password textbox.

Based on the password (owner or user), the PDF will open with respective permissions.
