Hide And Unhide Rows And Columns In Excel

In this article I will explain how to hide and unhide rows and columns in excel.

Prerequisite

Software requirement

Before you start reading this tutorial you should make sure that excel (any version) is installed on your machine.

Prerequisite knowledge

Before you go ahead, it is required that you should know basics about excel.

Open A New Excel

First of all open a new excel and save it with the name ‘Hide_Unhide_Rows_Columns_Demo.xlsx’ (you can give any name).

Add Data In Excel

For this tutorial I am adding following data in excel file

Hide Row In An Excel

To hide a row

select a row(or a range of rows).
Right click on it.

Click on ‘Hide’.

Once you hide the row the excel will look like as shown in figure below

Unhide Row In An Excel

To unhide a row

Select one row above and one row below the range of cells (which are hidden). For example to unhide row from 4 to 6, select row from 3 to 7.
Right click on the selected range and click on ‘Unhide’

Hide And Unhide Column In An Excel

Like rows you can follow the same steps to hide and unhide the columns.
