Enable The Performance Schema In Mysql On AWS

In this article, we will enable the performance schema in MySQL on AWS.

What Is The Performance Schema?

The performance schema is the diagnostic tool in MySQL that provides insight into various aspects of database performance and resource usage.

To enable the performance schema, we can follow these steps: -

To create a new parameter group, go to the RDS dashboard and click on the Parameter groups options.

The following screen will appear. Click on the Create parameter group button.

A screen will appear to create the parameter group. Enter the details and click on the Create button.

Once the parameter group is created, go to the details, and click on the Edit button.

In the Modifiable parameters, search the parameter performance_schema and change the value from 0 to 1.

Click on the Save changes button to save the change.

The next step is to create a MySQL database.

The last step is to modify the Db parameter group of the database. For that, go to the details screen of the database and click on the Modify button.

Scroll down to the Additional configuration section and modify the Db parameter group.

Save the changes. The performance schema is enabled for your database.
