Enable Continuous Integration In The Azure Devops Pipeline

In this article, we will enable continuous integration in the Azure DevOps pipeline.

Purpose

Continuous Integration when enabled triggers the agent process (build) when a commit is done on the remote repository.

How To Enable Continuous Integration?

To enable Continuous Integration, go to the pipeline. Click on the pipeline (i.e. "myrepo").

The pipeline detail screen will come. Click on the "Edit" button.

In the edit screen, click on the vertical ellipsis (⋮) and then "Triggers" as shown in figure below.

In the triggers section, click on the Continuous Integration → "myrepo". A section will appear on the right-hand side.

Check the checkbox "Override the YAML continuous integration trigger from here". A section will appear to enable continuous integration.

Click on the "Save" button.

A window will appear to enter the comments.

Enter the comments and click on the "Save" button.

Trigger The Build

To trigger the build, change the code and commit the changes.

A build will be automatically triggered.
