In this article, we will discuss EC2 Reserved Instance in AWS.

Purpose

The EC2 reserved instance is the same as the on-demand EC2 instance. But in the case of EC2 Reserved Instance, you make a time commitment.

Due to the commitment, the cost of the reserved instance is cheaper as compared to the on-demand EC2 instance.

How To Purchase The EC2 Reserved Instance

To purchase the EC2 reserved instance, click on the Reserved Instances menu in the EC2 module.

A screen appears on the right-hand side. Click on the Purchase Reserved Instances button.

Another screen will appear where you can find the instance based on the different factors mentioned in the last section.

Click on the Add to cart button to add an item to the cart.

Once the instances are added to the cart, you can click on the View cart button to proceed further. In the final screen, you can click on the Order all button to purchase the EC2 Reserved Instance.
