DynamoDB Accelerator In AWS

In this article, we will discuss the DynamoDB accelerator in AWS.

Purpose

DynamoDB accelerator is a fully managed, highly available in-memory cache for DynamoDB for improving performance.

How Does DAX Work?

DAX is a bridge between the application and DynamoDB. DAX provides frequently accessed data to the application.

Creation Of DAX Cluster

First, create a DynamoDB table. Go to DynamoDB → DAX → Clusters.

A screen will appear to create the DAX cluster. Click on the Create cluster button.

A screen will appear to enter the information. Enter the Cluster name, and select Node families, Node types, and Cluster size. Click to proceed on the Next button.

In the next screen, you can create the Subnets and fill in other information. Click on the Next button.

On the third screen, you can select the table. Click on the Next button.

In the next screen, you can specify advanced settings. Click on the Next button.

You can review the information on the last screen and click on the Create cluster button.

The cluster is created.
