Datepicker Dialog In Android

In this article, we will create datepicker dialog in android.

Example

In this example, we will show a datepicker dialog on screen load and displays the selected date in the textbox.

First, we will drag and drop a textview in layout

In the java file, we will override onCreateDialog method

@Nullable
@Override
protected Dialog onCreateDialog(int id) {
    return new DatePickerDialog(this, new DatePickerDialog.OnDateSetListener() {
        @Override
        public void onDateSet(DatePicker view, int year, int month, int dayOfMonth) {
            TextView textView = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.tvGetDate);
            textView.setText(String.valueOf(year) +
                "-" + String.valueOf(month) + "-" + String.valueOf(dayOfMonth));
        }
    }, 2019, 10, 31);
}

Finally call the showDialog method in onCreate method

showDialog(0);

Output

On load
