Create The Presigned URL In AWS S3 Service

In this article, we will create the presigned URL in the AWS S3 service.

What Is A Pre-Signed URL?

The pre-signed URL is shared with the user to provide temporary access to the object.

How To Create A Presigned URL?

To create a presigned URL, we will work on the following steps: -

Create an S3 bucket
Upload a file to the S3 bucket
Create a presigned URL
Presigned URL format

Let us get started.

Create An S3 Bucket

First, create an S3 bucket..

Upload A File To The S3 Bucket

The second step is to upload a file to the S3 bucket.

Create A Presigned URL

To create a presigned URL, select the object and go to Actions → Share with a presigned URL.

A popup window will appear where you can specify the time period till the user can access the object.

Click on the Create presigned URL button. The URL is copied to the clipboard.

Presigned URL Format

The presigned URL will be in the following format.

https://<s3 URL>?response-content-disposition=<value>&X-Amz-Security-Token=<value>&X-Amz-Algorithm=<value>&X-Amz-Date=<value>&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=<value>&X-Amz-Expires=<value>&X-Amz-Credential=<value>&X-Amz-Signature=<value>
