CloudFront Service In AWS

In this article, we will discuss CloudFront service in AWS.

Purpose

CloudFront is a web service that provides an easy and cost-effective way to distribute content with low latency and high data transfer speeds.The CloudFront service is used to create CDN (Content Delivery Networks).

What Is CDN?

A CDN is a location near the user where the commonly requested files are cached. Whenever the file is requested by an application or a user, the cached copy of the file is returned from the location nearest to the user. The nearest location is called the edge location.

How To Create A Cloudfront Distribution?

To create a CloudFront distribution, search the word cloudfront in the search box. Click on the CloudFront service in the search result.

The Amazon CloudFront screen will appear, click on the Create a CloudFront distribution button.

The Create distribution screen will appear. Enter the details like Origin domain and Origin access.

Scroll down to select the Web Application Firewall (WAF).

Scroll down to the bottom and click on the Create distribution button.

The distribution gets created.

In the above image, the Distribution domain name is the URL by which you can access the S3 bucket.
