This article will discuss cloud-init provisioning agents while creating the Linux virtual machine.

What Is A Cloud-Init Provisioning Agent?

The cloud-init provisioning agent is called when the Linux machine is booted for the first time. You can execute custom scripts in cloud-init.

To execute the custom script: -

Create a Linux virtual machine
While creating the virtual machine, you can see the option Custom Data and cloud init in the Advanced tab
There you can write a custom script(s). For this example, we will write a script to install Nginx

To check whether the Nginx is installed, you can write the following command.

nginx -v
