Click Function In Pyautogui

In this article, we will discuss click function in pyautogui

Purpose

Click function invokes left click event of the mouse.

Example

import pyautogui

pyautogui.moveTo(700,500)

pyautogui.click()

Specifying Coordinates In Click Function

In the last example, we have used moveTo function to move the mouse at a specific location. Post that we have used click function. But you can also specify the X and Y coordinates in the click function as well.

So, the above code could be written as

import pyautogui

pyautogui.click(700,500)

The above code will also give the same output.

Clicks Attribute

Clicks attribute specifies the number of clicks you want mouse to perform.

import pyautogui
pyautogui.click(clicks=2)

The above code acts as double click.

Interval Attribute In Click Function

Interval attribute specifies the pause (in seconds) between clicks.

Here is the example

import pyautogui

pyautogui.click(700, 500,clicks=2, interval=0.25)

In the above code, mouse will be clicked twice and the pause between 2 clicks will be .25 seconds.

Button Attribute In Click Function

Button attribute specifies which mouse button should be clicked. Button attributes has 3 values

Left
Right
Middle

Consider the following example

import pyautogui

pyautogui.click(button='right')

In the above example, the python program is performing right-click event.
