Azure Locks






Purpose









Types of lock




  1. CanNotDelete lock → This type of lock allows the authorized user to modify the resource but does not have the permission to delete the resource.
  2. Read-only lock → This type of lock does not allow the user to modify or delete the resource.

Does the lock change the behavior of the resource?





How to apply the lock?




  1. Go to the resource group where you want to apply the lock.
  2. On the left-hand side window, click on the "Locks".
  3. On the right-hand side, click on the "+ Add" button to add a new lock.

  5. In the add screen, enter the "Lock Name", "Lock Type" and click on the "Ok" button. In the "Lock Type" field, we have two values i.e. Delete and Read-only.

  7. A lock is created on the resource group.
