Volume Gateway

Volume Gateway

The volume gateway is categorized as: -

Gateway-Cached Volumes → In this mode, frequently accessed data is stored locally on-premises, while the entire dataset is stored in Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3)
Gateway-Stored Volumes → In this mode, the entire dataset is stored locally, with asynchronous backups to AWS S3 for durability

Tape Gateway

This mode is used for integrating on-premises backup applications with cloud-based virtual tape libraries (VTL). It allows you to replace physical tapes with virtual tapes in the cloud.

File Gateway

This mode presents a file interface to applications, allowing them to store and retrieve files in Amazon S3. It enables cost-effective storage with scalable access to the cloud.
