Adding 2 Arrays Item By Item In Numpy

In this article, we will add 2 arrays item by item in NumPy.

Example

Consider an example where we have an array "arr" and we want to add it with the same array "arr".

You can simply write "arr + arr" to add 2 arrays. Here is an example: -

import numpy as np

arr = np.arange(1, 10)

print("Print Array before addition:", arr)

arr = arr + arr

print("Print Array after addition:", arr)

Once you run the above code, you will get the following error: -

Similarly, we can perform subtraction.

import numpy as np

arr = np.arange(1, 10)

print("Print Array before subtraction:", arr)

arr = arr - arr

print("Print Array after subtraction:", arr)

Multiplication

import numpy as np

arr = np.arange(1,10)

print("Print Array before multiplication:", arr)

arr = arr * arr

print("Print Array after multiplication:", arr)

And division

import numpy as np

arr = np.arange(1,10)

print("Print Array before division:", arr)

arr = arr / arr

print("Print Array after division:", arr)
