Add A User Group In The AWS Console

In this article, we will add a user group in the AWS console.

What Is A User Group?

The user group contains the list of users that contains the same set of permissions.

Why Do We Need A User Group?

Consider a scenario, where a user is having admin access. If the user leaves the organization, then we may end up in a difficult situation.

We create user groups and assign a set of permission to the group. In case of any user leaves the organization, we can remove the user from the group.

How To Create A User Group?

To add the user group, go to IAM and click on the User groups.

The screen to add a user group will appear. Click on the Create group button.

Another screen appears to enter the User group name and select the users.

Scroll down below to select the permissions.

Click on the Create group button to create the user group.
